The world of energy is transforming. We’re innovating in the oil and gas sector, while transitioning from conventional production methods and energy sources that have been used for decades to new, innovative, cleaner energy sources that were once too expensive to be commercially adopted. There are a lot of opportunities if we’re willing to be agile and courageous enough to seize them.
We need all forms of energy to feed the increasing demands of a rapidly modernizing world. It's about 'and' not 'or'. It's not oil and gas OR alternative energy; it's oil and gas AND all sources of energy.
For Canada to be in the forefront of the energy revolution, we need public policy that rewards innovation, creativity, and realism, while valuing the benefits of oil and gas. I want to be part of creating this future, and I hope you do too.
Imagine a world where everyone understood and valued energy. We can get there. I encourage you to proudly share your own stories to inspire others to think critically about current issues so that we can have balanced, respectful conversations about energy use and the reality of transition.
I hope you'll find that my work offers a different, thought-provoking, perspective on the topic of energy. It's important to ask questions and challenge the status quo narrative by considering different ideas. It's also imperative to engage in a realistic, fact-based discussion about the future of energy, even if it goes against the current dogma.
Canadian energy – we have a great story to tell! Let’s go tell it!
Hi, I'm Deidra
a Canadian energy advocate, passionate about responsible energy development and sharing information to support balanced, respectful, fact-based conversations about energy.
I've had the good fortune of working in the oil and gas industry for over 15 years.
My job took me out to sites including plants, compressors, oil batteries, pipelines, and drilling rigs. I've seen first-hand the pride the operators take in ensuring these sites are maintained, and this is why I speak up to dispel myths and mis-truths about Canadian oil and gas, the workers, and the energy sector, in general.
